Eliza Schinner is a Brazilian bass player and multi-instrumentalist, recently living in Hamburg (Germany). Born in Brasília, the bassist has played with hundreds of national and international artists in a wide variety of styles, from heavy metal to samba. Among them is the American singer Krishna Das, referred to as the “Rockstar of Yoga”, with whom she’ll be touring soon in Europe. Check the dates!

Eliza’s most recent work includes joining KOLARI, a german metal band which is already on the line-up of 2024 festivals such as Hellseatic and Euroblast.
Now let’s explore interesting facts of the past. Eliza played for nine years with the renowned Brazilian rock band Hanoi Hanoi, founded by Arnaldo Brandão, with whom she has appeared on big stages, including the Rock in Rio festival, when Eliza Schinner performed a double bass duet with the Rolling Stones bassist Darryl Jones.
Played for three years with the iconic Brazilian singer and songwriter Rogério Skylab, with whom she recorded all the bass lines on the album Skygirls, released in 2009. She accompanied the artist at hundreds of concerts, including on tv shows like the Programa do Jô, one of the biggest program audits of the Brazilian television, on TV Globo (2011).

She was the bassist in the now extinct band Glass and Glue, one of whose members was actress and singer Mayana Moura, with whom she played in fashion shows and at major festivals such as the Goiânia Noise Festival and Fashion Rio.
Eliza Schinner has also been on stage playing her powerful electric bass with a multitude of Brazilian artists and bands – not mentioned above – such as Roberta Campos, Lorena Chaves, Mônica Besser, Gisa Pithan, Regina Mota, Paul Serran, Ana élle, the bands Medulla, Motel 11-11, Kita, Harmada, Onno, Pessoal da Nasa, Bloco Cru, banda 3a1, Os Carburadores, The Alberto, Rajar, Volt, & more!
Another cool Brazilian pop rock band she joined was the Gurus, which made a name for itself with the track “Até o Fim do Mundo”, part of the soundtrack for TV Globo’s teen series Malhação (2003).
From 2007 to 2009, she accompanied surfer and musician Teco Padaratz in his surf music band called El Niño, with production by Christiaan Oyens, with whom she played at surf festivals such as the WCT, all over the country, and also at the long-lost Humaitá pra Peixe 2009 festival in Rio de Janeiro.
She had a brief stint with the Rio de Janeiro thrash and metal band Gangrena Gasosa, with whom he played on big stages such as in this epic concert at Circo Voador (RJ).
In 2013, she was the protagonist of the miniseries Vida de Rockeira, shown on Brazilian television by Canal Bis. In the program, Eliza was responsible for putting together a female rock band, in true reality show style.
From 2013 to 2023, she was a member of the independent Brazilian rock band Nove Zero Nove, a prominent band in the country’s underground scene, which ended in 2023. Check it out the power of this live concert at Circo Voador or have fun watching one of its coolest videoclips.
In 2014 and 2017, she accompanied Wander Wildner, former lead singer of Brazilian punk rock band Os Replicantes, on his tours of Rio de Janeiro.
In 2019, she joined the Brazilian heavy metal band MALDITA, with whom he performed shows for the release of the album Lúcifer.
Also in 2019, she toured the south of Brazil with Rodrigo Costa, the former lead singer and bassist of the Brazilian rock band Forfun.
In 2021, during the covid-19 pandemic, the bassist decided to leave Brazil and live on the road. During a five-month trip to England, she formed a blues trio called the Henry Kimber Trio, playing several gigs in renowned blues pubs such as Blues Posts and Ain’t Nothing But The Blues (London).
In 2022, Eliza quickly returned to Brazil to tour with the Nova Orquestra, a 33 musicians orchestra with whom she traveled the country playing the elaborate bass lines of the nostalgic bassist Chorão, in this beautiful tribute to the extinct Charlie Brown Jr. band, one of the most famous rock bands in the country.
In 2022 and 2023, she accompanied American singer Krishna Das on his European tour, playing in countries such as Austria, England, Holland, Norway, Denmark, Germany, Sweden and Israel. The 2024 tour is already being scheduled!
After having her German citizenship recognized in October 2023, Eliza has decided to live in Hamburg, and is looking forward to exploring the music scene in the city, Germany, Europe and the world. Hey ho!
